About the Lynn Fire Department |

Our Mission ...
The mission of the Lynn Fire Department is to protect our community
from the loss of life and property resulting from fires, medical emergencies,
hazardous incidents, and other disasters.
We will accomplish our mission through prevention, education, fire
suppression, medical services, and other related emergency and non-emergency
activities.
We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models, and
strive to utilize all of the necessary resources available and at our command to
provide a service deemed excellent by our citizens.
In furtherance of this mission Lynn Fire Department members are guided by the
following principles:

The Lynn Fire Department
consists of 171 uniformed personnel, 3 Office Staff and
9 fire alarm operators.
Uniformed personnel are
divided among 4 Line Divisions, which staff 6 Engine Companies, 3 Ladder
Companies, Safety Officers, 1 ALS
Ambulance, and District Chiefs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a
year, and Staff Divisions which include a Communications Division, an EMS
Division, a Training Division, a Maintenance Division, a Fire Prevention Division and an
Arson Squad.
Non-uniformed personnel staff the Fire Alarm dispatch Center and the Administrative Office.
All Department operations are under the command of the Chief of the
Department who is assisted by the Deputy Chief. Either or both the Chief and the
Deputy are available on call 24 hours a day.
